Happy Tuesday Health Warriors!! 👍🤩👍

Well another month has passed us by so quickly since our last incredible talk with the brilliant and beautiful Inna Evtoushenko. I thoroughly loved the nutritional information that Inna shared with us…my guess is that each of you have implemented small changes in your life that will give you great results!

If you haven’t reached out to her yet, here is her website to book with her! https://restorativemassagetherapy.ca/

Like your health, Inna is well worth your time! She can help to set you up for success, but as long as you’re willing to make some changes! 😉

Since our last seminar, I pray you are all doing amazing and allowing some time for your deserving selves to get out and enjoy the beautiful nature?

What an impeccable time to enjoy the vibrant colours and the aromatic atmosphere of the earth around you!

Don’t just look at it, but touch it too! Feel it’s temperature, it’s texture, and smell it deeply!

Listen to the forest…the sounds of the birds, the falling of the leaves, and the winds that blow through.

Feel the warmth of the sun’s rays on your face, natures gift of natural vitamin D to all living things.

I highly recommend taking a walk into the forest to just ‘be’. Not like a regular hike, but more of a ‘visit’ to the forest if you will.

Take it all in! Embrace it! Have gratitude. Thank God for it all!

Feel the roughness (or the smoothness) of the bark, pet the moss, disperse the dirt under the decaying leaves. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat.

Softly sift it through your fingers and notice its rich dark colours. Really take in that ‘whiff’ of the natural smells!

Those ‘smells’ are heathy microbes that are emitted from the decaying leaves and rotting logs, especially in the gorgeous season of fall when it is so abundant!

Did you know that they-the microbes- are extremely healthy for us? That big whiff you take in is so beneficial, and even helps to improve immune system function, as well as improves respiratory and cardiovascular health! Who knew?!

It is a great way to eliminate stress as it lowers the heart rate, and even decreases cortisol levels! God thought of everything before placing us here, it’s so synergistic- right down to every cell of every living thing, and even every dead thing! 😉

You should really give it a try for yourself, and the bonus is- it’s free!

Go for it! Bathe yourself in all of the gifts that the forest has to offer!

Give thanks to the potato bugs and all of their busy friends for the endless work that they do to break it all down. Without fail I might add!

There’s so much life in the decay after the death, which really does bring it full circle, offering meaning and purpose.

Just like us, we all have meaning and purpose to our being. It’s in the way we handle our journey that solidifies it all and shows our truth.

Truly finding that balance as we journey is key. If we have balance in it all, then we are most likely able to achieve and maintain optimal health.

However, if we slip on one end of the scale, it makes the other end heavier or lighter, and vice versa.

Trying to remain balanced in our everyday lives is a on-going task that our bodies will naturally follow.

When we do not have balance, our bodies will become unbalanced too.

Balancing is an on-going process which we really need to embrace with grace, honour and even forgiveness.

With that all being said, I’d like to tell you about our next awesome Health Warrior speaker!

I am thrilled to share that we will be blessed to meet and hear from the wonderful Dr. Shiva, of the world renowned Marsden Centre for excellence in integrative medicine. https://www.marsdencentre.com/

Dr. Shiva is a well established Naturopathic Doctor (ND) who has had many years of practice in both conventional and naturopathic medicine.

She earned her medical degree in Iran, where she diagnosed and treated people of all ages, and of all health conditons for nearly 20 years.

Dr. Shiva then came to Canada and continued her education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she achieved her degree as a Naturopathic Doctor. She has been practising naturopathic medicine with a focus in oncology for about 10 years now, and is such a value to anyone who has her as their health care provider. She is a plethora of knowledge and shares valuable information based on her education plus the combined 30 years of experience in treating all walks of life with an array of health conditions.

Dr. Shiva is going to be sharing about the four pillars of life with us, and the importance of the balance between them all. With balance of these systems, it allows us to have the ultimate chance at our best health.

We are never too old, or too unhealthy to try! You really can teach an old dog new tricks!! Perhaps we will bring a tight rope for anyone who wants to try their own balance? I’m teasing of course, we won’t make you do that! 😜

It’s a great opportunity for us to enhance our health and improve how we function in our everyday lives. I strongly encourage you to come out and meet Dr. Shiva. Her calm and gentle demeanour makes her easy to talk to and you really can ask her anything.

She is a compassionate person who believes strongly in what she does and her years of experience in treating people has proven that time and time again. I look forward to introducing this beautiful soul to our great community.

On a side note-Dr. Shiva is a key player on my own outstanding health care team. I truly feel her compassion towards me, and is such an encouragement to me in my own life. That is why this incredible doctor and what she does, NEEDS to be shared. I believe that more people could benefit in their own health journeys by getting under the wings of Dr. Shiva’s care. I am blessed to have her on my team with the other amazing health professionals that are key players in my healing. I thank God for each and every one of them!

I hope you made it this far in the letter because I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and I pray your hearts have abundant joy in whatever you do to celebrate this time of thanks.

I’d like to leave you with one of my favourite drinks…Golden Milk! 😋 I was first introduced to this incredible beverage by my dear sister in law, Melanie. She and her hubby experienced it from some locals when they travelled to Marrakesh in Morocco, back in 1999! I bet it was like no other up in the glorious mountains!

Golfen Milk is not only delicious, but it’s super healthy for you, as well as versatile!

The ingredients used to make golden milk have antibacterial and antiviral properties which may help to protect your body from infections-especially with the sickness that’s going around out there and just before the holidays to boot!

Their anti-inflammatory properties may strengthen the immune system as well.

Turmeric, ginger and cinnamon, the main ingredients in golden milk have strong anti-inflammatory properties that may also reduce joint pain.

Ginger and tumeric may also help relieve indigestion as well as aid symptoms in ulcerative colitis.

The drink is just simply amazing all around in my books!

Whenever possible, I try to use fresh but always organic ingredients, however, the powder versions make an amazing drink too.

Ingredients:

2 cups of coconut cream (or desired milk of any kind-I just love the good fat and the creaminess of the coconut cream!)

1 tspn of tumeric

1/2 tspn of ginger

1/2 tspn of cinnamon

Pinch of black pepper

Pinch of nutmeg

1-2 tblspn of sweetener- could be local maple syrup or local honey- being I am fighting cancer, I personally use one of the four that the body doesn’t recognize as sugar. That is either monk fruit, xylitol, stevia or erythritol.

Put all ingredients in a small to medium pot over a low-medium heat for about 10-15 mins stirring often.

Pour with love into your favourite mug and enjoy! 😊

Much love and grace to you all from the depths of my heart! Keep on keeping on my beautiful Health Warriors! 🧡

Blessings,

Warrior Michelle
